EUREKA TOURISM is a European strategic initiative launched within the EUREKA programme and led by Spain, oriented to the sustainable improvement of tourism, leisure and cultural sectors. The objective is the definition of the main lines of technological development and the generation of R&D projects that as a result would set up products, processes or innovative services with technological basis and a commercial interest.

Oriented to public and private entities, EUREKA TOURISM is a real European network for technological innovations in the tourist sector.

Eurostars project looking for Partners

Sairmais is a recently created start-up with a long term objective to revolutionize the way people search and share tourism information and do reservations on the Internet. We are crazy about innovation and think that new tools are needed to take internet to the next level: the semantic web. The sairmais.com (still on beta stage) is a one stop portal for tourism information with a inbuilt social network and georeferenced content.

We have expertise on advanced web development technologies, Search Engine Optimization, and development of contents to the tourism business.

Sairmais contribution to the project
Our contribution is mainly related to the implementation of the web platform, the social network and tourism related contents.

Type of partners searched: We are looking for a partner to help us build a web recommender system supported on the social network and the evaluations of users (either quantitative and tags). We are also looking for partners interested in sharing expertise & technologies on tourism portals.

Sophia Antipolis:DEV-HELP to represent France on the selection committee for EUREKA Tourism

The goal: help generate new ideas for the tourism sector based on innovative technology.

Launched as part of the EUREKA program, which is led by Spain, EUREKA Tourism is a European strategic initiative aimed at generating new ideas for the tourism sector based on innovative technology, which was renewed in Lisbon on June 19 this year for an additional three years.

Côte d’Azur based DEV-HELP was selected to represent France on the 10-member strong European Consultative Committee because of its wide experience in assisting small and medium-sized (SME) companies to set-up technological and sales and marketing partnerships.The firm, which is very involved in the region’s economy, is also on the board of the Telecom Valley association, and leads the Côte d’Azur’s Tourism@ project, which focuses on technology and innovation for the tourism industry. The company is also a member of the Mission de Développement Economique Régionale PACA and the Pacte PME’s world class SCS (Secured Communicating Solutions) cluster.

An intergovernmental initiative launched in 1985 at the behest of France and Germany, EUREKA aims to encourage cooperation between companies and research bodies to develop innovative products, processes or services of commercial interest.

In 2008 EUREKA had a total of 39 member countries that included Israel, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey and European Community member countries.
